(ECNS) -- China's 5G technology brings opportunities to the world and they looked forward to cooperating with China in this field, said foreign ambassadors visiting the Innovation Experience Center of China Unicom on Tuesday.
More than 110 foreign diplomats and representatives of international organizations in China participated in activities held by China’s Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to learn about its industrial development.
Envoys praised China’s achievements of digital transformation in the fields of 5G+smart medical care, 5G+smart ecology, and 5G+fully-connected factories and expressed their wish to cooperate with China in the 5G field.
Dominica looks forward to cooperating with China in the agricultural field by using 5G communication technology, changing the traditional labor-intensive agriculture through digital infrastructure construction, and jointly promoting agricultural modernization, said Martin Charles, ambassador of the Commonwealth of Dominica to China, during this visit.
Natural disasters caused by climate change is one of the perennial problems in the Caribbean, said Charles, who added that he hoped to strengthen cooperation with China on climate change, using 5G communication technology to forecast and control potential natural disasters.
Winfred Hammond, Ghanaian Ambassador to China, was very interested in the 5G application in eco-environment monitoring platform during his visit. He pointed out that his country hoped to work with Chinese companies to treat polluted water using 5G technology.
Ambassadors noted that some countries are trying to exclude China's 5G technology products, preventing Chinese enterprises from cooperating with their foreign counterparts on normal information and communication technologies on the pretext of “national security”.
Charles pointed out that some countries are trying to put China on the so-called "blacklist" of 5G technology. Ironically, these countries are actively providing 5G technology to the outside world, showing a double standard.
"I believe in China, and Dominica can introduce 5G technology from China.
Lebanese Ambassador to China Milia Jabbour said she could see that China is open to 5G cooperation.
Smart and informationized industrial development is the future trend, she said, adding that countries should strengthen exchanges and cooperation in 5G and AI, and share the achievements of technological development.
